On Friday you have Codrington vs Green on Showtime, two undefeated, potential champs one day!

Powell fights Ter-Meliksetian also on the Friday's card then on Saturday Showtime follows up that card with Lacy vs Pemberton and Mabuza vs Marquez. Two excellent cards and betting options available.

Wagers I'm looking at:
No line for Friday's fights but any line on Codrington less than -200 is worth looking at. Powell vs Ter right now is just for viewing pleasure. Now Lacy and Pemberton are two guys that can crack! I'm leaning on the under 8 1/2 or taking fewer rounds under for less juice. This one goes about 6 IMO. I look for Mabuza to hang in there with Marquez for how long who knows?? If he tries to stand there and trade, Mabuza won't make it to the final bell. Still trying to get a better read on this fight. Gentlemen, your thoughts????

Played Lacy -625 and Mabuza +270

Mabuza's a better boxer than Marquez.

Despite Mabuza's great chin, Rafael can end any fight with one punch

While Mabuza has a good chance of outboxing Marquez, all 3 of Rafael's losses have come by stoppage, one was just 5 years ago. Mabuza is a good boxer but he can bang also, definitly a big enough puncher to hurt Marquez.

Should be interesting to see what strategy Mabuza comes in with and how the fight plays out b/c of it.

Last week...

Gonzalez +180 , Gonzalez by ko +395, and Fields -180 all cashed in, posted at madjacks forum as usual

I agree, Marquez does have one punch KO ability. How do you think Mabuza will try and box Marquez or go toe to toe?

I have no idea, but as a boxer-puncher he should do just that, wait for the right opportunities to load up with a heavy emphasis on boxing smart. IMO he can't go toe to toe with Marquez without getting hurt, no one can, and I'm sure he's aware of that. He has to pick his spots to load up while outboxing him.

Couldn't believe it when I saw it. I got in at +153. Green been running at the mouth all week from what I heard. Being pretty disrespectful too. The only knock against Cod is the lack of pro fights under his belt. Regardless of the result tomorrow night, this line IMO is wacky!

2 guys with pretty solid amateur backgrounds.....

in green`s hometown...he`s 6`2" tall...and if he`s half as good as he talks,he`s gonna be a bear....

codrington`s people are rolling the dice here...they must feel like their young power puncher has a shot....

.....................................................................

i keep reading about pemberton becoming a boxer...at 38....outside of new england for the first time in his ENTIRE career...hasn`t fought in over a year to boot...

he`s going to give lacy angles?...and move?...

now he`s gonna become wilfred benitez?....i don`t think so..

i think he`s a glorified club fighter...seriously...he`s a big gary balletto...

a big puncher...that`s what he is...he hasn`t outboxed many guys that i`ve seen...every fight vs a warm body(a total of 3) either he`s on the deck...or his opponent...or both...

he has a big reach advantage...so lacy CAN`T stand outside...

the only hope for a distance fight is pemberton losing his nerve...as sheika did(for the first time in his career...that`s how hard lacy hits).....and clinching constantly....

even then,i have trouble seeing three times k.o.`ed pemberton going the route...

vs his real opponents(all of 2 guys..old charles brewer and sheika twice),he was either on the deck...hurt badly...getting standing 8 counts...or all of the above....

i suspect that when lacy hurts him,he`ll brutalize him....no standing 8`s in the ibf...or nevada...

i think lacy`s much quicker...and stronger...punching-wise and physically...more athletic....i`m more athletic than pemberton...

and hopefully the altitude will mess with the stiff new englander...

if you get a little scared, throw a few bucks on pemberton inside the distance....at +1090...or just pemberton wins at +700...

the other rub is that it`s in vegas...and i don`t trust vegas...or ratner...anything to do with vegas boxing...strange counts....strange weigh-ins.....lousy refs...blind judges...

i took under 8.5...then parlayed the lacy inside the distance with some solid winners(joe stevenson in the ultimate ,floyd jr...etc)

these obvious ones always scare me....i`m not going crazy...so i wouldn`t encourage anyone else to....

i also have to look at mabuza....at +225......he`s the goods...but,marquez can certainly knock him out...with one shot...so,it will be pins and needles throughout...

marquez is 30...and making the weight is tough for him...this is the toughest fight for him since austin...by far...he hasn`t fought outstanding offensive guys since austiin...smallish mauricio pastrana twice..heriberto ruiz....ricardo vargas and lousy pete frissina....

not a murderers row at bantam...

this is worth a wager at better than 2-1....

marquez is not only a big puncher...he`s an excellent technician...but,with a beatable chin...

he`ll have to be careful because he`ll have more coming back at him than at anytime since february of 2003....mabuza is slick...and well rounded..he has game...

we just don`t know whether he`s the new azumah nelson....or a level below the marquez` of the world...because he hasn`t seen anything like marquez....cruz carbajal is one dimensional...not a technician like marquez...and mabuza spanked him...with a broken hand to boot...

still...not to shabby..carbajal is a tough nut....

we`ll find out saturday...

somebody mentioned the under in the powell/vs the armenian bout..the armenian was stopped by sloppy nurhan suleymonoglu...and i`ve seen powell buzzed badly...plus money on the under 9.5?...might be worth a small play...

I thought about the under in the Powell fight but it's already moved 30 cents since 2 days ago. I may lay off it now.

Played and recommending...

Lacy straight up -625 average

Mabuza +270 small

Harrison under 10.5 +250 small

Played small but not recommending...

Codrington +145

Powell under 9.5 +150

I'll scalp the last two if the lines keep moving, I can already get -120 on the other side of both

I am seriously thinking of buying back some of Codrington but my gut tells me to stick to my guns. I think the Lacy winning inside the distance is worth a crack.

Wow just checked Pinny and Codrington is at even. Are books getting that much one way action? Anybody here put money on Green?

Pinny just pulled the Green fight

5dimes still has Green -120, I'm scalping

This fight is in Miami OK, which is less than 2 hours away from Green's hometown of Tulsa. If the fight goes the distance (only 8 rounds), Green has a huge advantage. I'll take the free money and run.

Yeah, Cod was ko'ed within 20 seconds of the fight. Layed out as matter of fact! I feel like shit but I'm concerned as hell for the kid. Sorry for anyone who followed me on this bet. Seemed like Cod could not take a punch and got caught.
